Q Why remodel?
A Remodeling your home can modernize the style, make it more comfortable, improve energy efficiency and home functionality, increase the value of your home, and help with upkeep and maintenance. Remodeling is a sound investment in your home to ensure longevity, usefulness, and home value.
Q I want to remodel my kitchen and/or bathroom, but I don't know what changes to make or what my design options are. Can you help me?
A We work with a designer at Kohl Building Products who will help you design the space you want to remodel in a way that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your designer will provide you with options in a variety of price ranges. Once you've decided on a layout and the types of materials you want to use, we will install it to your specifications as well as obtain the proper work permits if necessary and adhere to current building and safety codes.
Q What can I expect while you are working on my house?
A Respect to you, your family, and your property. We will keep you informed as much as possible of our progress and what to expect each day. We will keep the work site clean and free of hazards so you and your family can be safe. If there are any problems we will notify you as soon as possible. We will arrive at a time that is convenient for you. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure that the final result is exactly what you want. You can trust us to perform the job to your specifications even while you are away from home—whether for the day or that family vacation.
Q Will my project be completed by your company's employees or do you hire subcontractors?
A In general, our employees perform all of the work. When we are unable to perform a certain service (i.e, plumbing, installing granite, HVAC), we work with a group of local small businesses who will be able to expertly complete that part of the job. You will be informed of the parts of the job that will be done by another professional and the name of the subcontractor(s). All scheduling and billing will be handled by us.
Q Why do you charge a service charge on smaller jobs?
A The service charge assures quality service to our customers while offsetting the cost of fuel, wear and tear on company vehicles, and travel time that we encounter on smaller jobs. A service charge helps us to pay for some of these costs while at the same time keeps the prices low for all our customers.
Q Do you provide emergency service?
A We will do the best we can to accommodate your needs. In most instances, we should be able to help you within 24-48 hours. In certain cases where the project is too large, we will give you a realistic estimate as to how quickly we can perform the work.
Q What is important to you for the success of my job?
A Customer satisfaction is a high priority and our goal. We want you to be happy with the end result and we will do whatever we can to make that happen.
Q How will I be billed?
A A portion of your total bill is usually required on the first day that we start work. If it is necessary to order custom materials (for example: windows and doors) an advanced deposit will be required. Depending on the size of your job, payments will then be split up at specific intervals, all of which will be laid out in an estimate. The final payment is due in ten days upon receiving your invoice after completion of the job. We accept checks, Visa, or Mastercard as payment.
Q Do you have a PA contractor number and insurance?
A Yes, PA #004596. We carry a general liability policy and all our workers are covered by worker's compensation insurance.
Q What geographic areas do you service?
A All of Berks County and part of Lehigh County.
Q I work odd hours and/or prefer to interact over email. Can you accommodate me?
A Certainly! Please fill out our contact form and just let us know you prefer to correspond via email.
Q What if I have a question that is not on this list?
A We understand that every situation is unique and you may have many questions regarding your home improvement project(s) that go beyond the scope of this list. We invite you to call us or use our contact form so that we can provide you with additional information. We look forward to hearing from you!
